Microchipping Your Pet for Added Peace of Mind<\/h3>\n

A microchip might sound a bit high tech, but it isn\u2019t an elaborate tracking system. Rather, a microchip is simply a tiny radio frequency transponder no bigger than a grain of rice. Unlike GPS, the transponder does not require a battery but emits a radio frequency signal only when it\u2019s picked up by a specific type of scanner used to read microchips.<\/p>\n

Microchips are also covered in a bio-capsule that\u2019s safe and compatible for implantation under the skin. Typically, microchipping occurs during a pet\u2019s spay or neuter surgery.
